EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES

In April, in conjunction with other Professional Associations in the area, we help sponsor the annual SMC Industry Days Conference to showcase Air Force space program opportunities and related responsibilities of the Space and Missile Systems Center. This year, in conjunction with Industry Days, we held our annual AFA-SMC Commander's Cup which is a golf competition involving teams of AFA members, active duty personnel and AFA supporters from the aerospace and local community.

In June of this year, AFA will host the SMC CEO Forum and the "Salute to SMC" Awards Banquet. Annual offficer and Board of Director elections are held in July and new officers are installed in September.

In November each year, we serve as the co-host (with AFA National), for the Air Force Association LA Space Celebration Ball normally held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. This event includes a national speaker, a panel of renowned aerospace experts and executives and culminates in the presentation of the Thomas D. White Award given to an industry or government leader who has contributed significantly to supporting Air Force space mission and goals.
